WEATHER GUARD

Idukki, nestled in the picturesque Western Ghats of Kerala, India, is renowned for its lush landscapes and vibrant agriculture. However, the region is no stranger to the challenges posed by unpredictable weather patterns, which can have a significant impact on the lives of its residents. These weather patterns, including heavy monsoons, temperature fluctuations, and the looming threat of landslides, can profoundly impact the lives and livelihoods of Idukki's residents.

Challenge:

Idukki's diverse geography, ranging from high-altitude hills to low-lying plains, makes it susceptible to a wide range of weather-related challenges. These include heavy rainfall, landslides, flooding, and extreme temperature variations. The challenge lies in effectively collecting and analyzing live weather data from multiple sources to provide accurate and timely information to the local population. Furthermore, disseminating this information to people in a format that is easily understandable and actionable is crucial to ensure their safety and minimize the impact of adverse weather events.

We Propose:

Our solution involves the development of a dynamic and user-friendly weather analysis and alert application for people in Idukki. This will continuously collect live weather data from reliable and freely accessible weather APIs. The collected data will then be processed and analyzed in real-time to assess the current and future weather conditions. When potentially hazardous conditions are detected, the system will generate alerts and notifications tailored to the specific needs of the region.

Our Roadmap:
